LENS TECHNOLOGIES: coatings

SCRATCH-RESISTANT COATING
We apply a scratch-resistant coating to all of our lenses. Though this process makes the surface of the lens considerably harder than the base lens material, it’s impossible to make a lens completely scratch proof (short of making it from diamonds) so please care for them properly as they may still scratch under certain conditions.

MIRROR COATING
Some of our lenses have a mirror coating. The practical purpose of this coating is to reduce the intensity of direct sunlight or glare by reflecting the light before it reaches your eye. Though our polarized lenses are the best choice for bright, glaring conditions, mirrored lenses are a good option. · reduces the intensity of direct sunlight and glare · designed for bright conditions

FLASH MIRROR COATING
Available on some of our lenses, this is a slight mirror coating that provides a technical look without the intensity of a full mirror. The practical purpose of this coating is to slightly reduce the intensity of direct sunlight or glare by reflecting the light before it reaches your eye. · slightly reduces the intensity of direct sunlight and glare

FOG-RESISTANT COATING
We add a fog-resistant coating on the inside of all of our goggle lenses. A double lens in combination with well-placed vents does a great job of minimizing condensation in cool conditions, but the addition of a fog-resistant coating bumps it up to a level that can tackle the toughest of conditions.
