Where there is light there is always glare. Stand on a reflective white surface without your polarized lenses, and a bluebird day can become a problem. Glare is created when light hits a surface, becomes concentrated, then reflects into your eyes. Polarized lenses eliminate this glare allowing details to show through, drastically reducing eye strain.

As with all of our lenses, RYDERS Polarized lenses provide protection against 100% UVA, UVB, UVC and harmful blue light to 400nm.

All of our lenses block 100% of UVA, UVB, and UVC rays, and harmful blue light to 400nm. These harmful rays are a leading cause of cataracts, skin cancer and wrinkles around the eyes—all great reasons to block them out.

A double lens is the ultimate defense against fog on the inside of the lens. With a single lens, if the air on the front of the lens is cool enough to make the lens a lower temperature than the air on the inside of the goggle, you have a perfect recipe for fogging. With a double lens, there’s a gap between the lenses so the inside lens — which is in contact with the warmer air — is much less likely to be cooled by the cold air flowing over the front of the outside lens. In this situation, the vapour content of the air doesn’t have a chance to condense, therefore annoying fog problems are avoided.

All of our lenses are shatterproof, meaning they won’t break up into dangerous little shards when impacted. An extremely strong impact may damage the lens, but it will never shatter. If astronauts trust this material to keep their heads from exploding while on a 17,000 mph space walk, you’ll have nothing to worry about on your adventures, no matter how fast you’re going.

Especially beneficial in cold conditions, this coating helps to prevent condensation on the inside of the lens.

Available on some of our sunglasses, these vents are especially beneficial on snug-fitting designs where airflow around the frame and lens is limited. Increased airflow helps to protect against fogging and keep the face cool.

We apply a scratch-resistant coating to all of our lenses. Though this process makes the surface of the lens considerably harder than the base lens material, it’s impossible to make the lenses completely scratch proof (short of making them from diamonds) so please care for them properly as they may still scratch under certain conditions.
