5 Sports That Need Sunglasses

Sunglasses are for so much for then lounging outside on a warm day. Whether you are driving a car or riding a bike, sunglasses are essential for safe outdoor activity. If you love cycling, you probably already know sunglasses are a must-have. However, there are a plethora of other activities in which you might have the sunshine in your face for a little too long. Check out these five sports that need sunglasses and why.

1 - Water Sports

When you're out in the sun all day, it is critical that your eyes remain protected from harmful UVA and UVB rays. Ultraviolet rays can cause permanent damage to your eyesight, skin cancer, and premature signs of aging. Being on the water means the harsh glare can make it impossible to see waves accurately and judge distances. With sunglasses, your vision can remain clear and unobstructed, so you are ready to take on any challenge.

As summer approaches and water sports become prevalent, don't get caught without eye protection when surfing, sailing, waterskiing, or boating. Keep a pair in your car or on your boat so that you don't risk your safety or fun.

2 - Golf

In a sport that requires you to be out on a course for hours or days in a row, it is essential to protect yourself against the sun's unrelenting glare. A few holes can quickly turn into a day on the green, and you need to trust that your vision will hold up.

If you're a recreational golfer, the last thing you want is to lose sight of a ball in the air and have to hunt through the woods for your expensive equipment. During your golf outing, sunglasses are critical to your happiness all day long. Grab your favorite pair of sports sunglasses to ensure you perform at your best and don't miss a thing.

3 - Baseball and Softball

When depth perception is crucial, you can't trust your naked eye to be reliable in the sun. When you are fielding a pop fly or trying to read signs from your catcher, one inch makes a massive difference. Professionals and little leaguers alike know the importance of a quality pair of sunglasses to keep your vision clear. Don't let there be a perfect day for softball only to have it ruined by forgetting proper eye protection.

Squinting through a game for several hours can cause premature lines and give you a headache. When you need to perform, make sure you pick a pair of sunglasses that can carry you through the game without worrying about bright days. Choose a light enough frame, so you remain comfortable no matter the activity.

4 - Beach Volleyball

Sand or beach volleyball is typically played outdoors, and it is critical when you are returning serves or making a play to be able to see correctly. Without sunglasses, you may fail to see balls and misjudge line calls. Volleyball is an incredibly fast sport, and when one point can make or break a set, it is key to keep your eyes focused.

Don't let your teammates down by being unprepared for the weather. Volleyball requires quick perception and coordination. Whether you play for fun or professionally, sunglasses can make or break your game. Overcast days can be exceptionally bright, so be sure to keep sunglasses in your bag at all times so you can be confident in your victory.

5 - Tennis

When quick decisions are necessary, you can't squint and hope you are guessing correctly. In a fast-moving sport, there's no time to question your next step. You need a clear, unobstructed vision that allows you to relax and adequately react to each volley. A sunny forecast can tank your performance if you aren't prepared with a pair of sunglasses.

Whether you play singles or doubles, it is vital you are at your peak. Grab a pair of sunglasses, so you don't miss a move. Tennis is sometimes regarded as a sport that can only be played with clear skies, so don't let brightness kill your game. Take on whatever the forecast has in store with confidence with a pair of sunglasses.
